Every talent needs a chance and that is exactly what the movie is all about if I had to summarize this movie in one line. Chance Pe Dance which is the latest offering by UTV Movies this time takes a dancing theme to make us realize that behind the limelight of movies and dancing lies a road that is full of struggle and hardwork and that every artist has to experience those ups and downs before they reach their ultimate destination.
Director Ken Ghosh has tried to keep the story as simple as possible and most of the story is very predictable because we have already seen such kind of movies earlier. However, the director goes ahead with his own style of story narration which is very youthful and will appeal to the next generation people to some extent. The story moves around Sameer (Shahid Kapoor) who basically is from Delhi, but stays in Mumbai and is struggling to get a break in movies. He works as a courier boy, but fails to perform his duties as he gets involved in his auditions. Soon Sameer meets Tina (Genelia D'souza) who is a choreographer and they gel up as they meet over and over. Despite the financial problems, Sameer never lets Tina know about his misery and one fine day Sameer gets a chance as a male lead in a film. Tina is selected for the same film as a choreogapher and that's when things go really happy. However, situations go wrong once again for Sameer and he ends up as a dance teacher in a high school. How Sameer and Tina then make their way to success is what the other half of the story is all about.
Honestly, if you are looking for something like Ishk Vishk which was Ken Ghosh directorial debut than you can skip this movie because the story is very predictable. However, if you are crazy for dance (choreographed by Marty Kundelka) than you will definitely enjoy this movie because that is one of the positive elements in the movie. Shahid's overall performance is very good and very much similar to what he did in Ishk Vishk. Genelia with glasses look really cool, but its high time that she must go for some challenging roles because we have always seen her doing the same kind of happy-go-lucky girl. Parikshit Sahni has done a decent job, but somewhere inside I felt that the role was very similar to what he did in 3 Idiots. The initial phase of the movie is really good and makes you laugh as well quite a times. Shahid and Genelia together on the screen make an awesome pair and look like they are really made for each other. Apart from that, the climax dance sequence is something that you should watch for yourself.
To conclude, I would say that the theme of the movie is really good, the energy is equally good but a better script with crisp screenplay would have made the movie really worth watching. Don't worry Ken Ghosh there is always a next chance.

Hey - Thx for the awesome reviews. If you can start your reviews with a overall rating on a scale of 10 or 5, It would be easier to know if movie is good/bad - if/when there is no time to read the review. If you can add that one line, it would be great :)
